Applications are currently closed and will open for Summer 2026 Fellowships in the fall of 2025. Follow our Instagram, subscribe to our newsletter, or check back regularly for updates.

Fellows spend their time in the Valley working on dedicated scholarly or creative writing or research projects, as detailed in their Project Proposals at the time of application.

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate visitors or pets due to the remote nature of our campus.

Applications for the 2026 Residency will open in fall 2025. Prospective Fellows will be asked to submit a project proposal, available on the applications page when available.

Fellows are housed in a the University Village, which is comprised of 11 simple cabins, a bathhouse, and a kitchen cabin. You can learn more about the specific accomodations on our Campus & Facilities page.

It depends! Center Staff will certainly be around, and depending on the time of the season, there may also be students, Artists-in-Residence, other Faculty Fellows, or assorted groups and classes working on campus. 

Fellowships are only available to University of Utah faculty members who have held their faculty appointment for a minimum of one year.

While faculty members most often come to the Center to work independently, the Fellows on campus often form informal cohorts, eating meals together and taking group ventures out, with or without staff members for guidance depending on the activity, into the Centennial Valley...

Faculty are ineligible for a Fellowship for the three years following their Fellowship season.
