Sara Tabbert

I'm an Alaskan artist who grew up in Fairbanks and have degrees in art from Grinnell College and the University of Nebraska. I returned to my home state in 2000 and have been busy making art there ever since.

My print work and carved wood panels are included in public and private collections across Alaska. I am currently getting ready for a solo show at the Alaska State Museum in February of 2019. Residencies are an important part of my career - having chosen to live in a relatively isolated place, experiences like the one I had last summer at Taft-Nicholson help keep my eyes fresh and open to new possibilities.

In addition to art, I am an avid if not competitive cross country skier and skijorer. I share the Fairbanks compound with an aging pack of huskies and woodworker Brandon McGrath-Bernhard, not necessarily in that particular order.
