Ewoud de Groot
Ewoud de Groot (Woody) is a Dutch Contemporary wildlife and landscape painter. His
project at the Center focused on explorations of the North American Wetlands. His paintings of birds and animals
in Centennial Valley and particularly the Red Rock Lakes Wildlife Refuge are extraordinary.
His use of abstraction in the landscape/background captured the feeling and beauty
of the light, grasslands, and water. To that abstraction in painted exquisite realistic
wildlife that seemed to float on the canvas. The paintings he created at the Taft-Nicholson Center will take the beauty of Centennial Valley around the world.
